Is my trailer brought to your site?

Yes, your trailer must be onsite to effectively sell your trailer. If not onsite the chances of us being able to work for your best interest diminish. Prospective customers come here because we have been in business selling RVs for over 50 years and we have an exceptional RV Sales and service reputation. If you are unable to transport your RV to our dealership yourself, we do have professional drivers that can pick it up for you. (Mileage charge would apply). You would have to meet the driver upon pickup at your RV.

What is your consignment on the sale?

Your bottom line is our bottom line, and if we don’t sell your trailer, we don’t collect any fees. The consignment fee is paid only at the point of a final sale. Our consignment fee is 10% +HST on the final selling price of your trailer. In the event of a sale, we will provide a signed offer to purchase agreement.

Is there a consignment agreement I have to enter?

PEI Home & RV Centre’s Consignment process is simple and flexible. You will need to sign a sale listing agreement outlining the Sale and Consignment terms. This agreement is typically for a 1-3 month period however, you may terminate your Consignment agreement at any time without any fees and pick up your RV.

Do I set the price I want for it?

Yes, but your RV must be fairly priced to attract prospective buyers and to sell. Our expert Sales Advisors will provide you with a suggest retail price for your RV based on the year, model and condition of the trailer. If your price is above market value it will impact the ability to sell your RV.  We typically establish a ceiling and floor price that you are willing to sell the RV for, which provides our Sales Advisors proper guidance when showing your RV to prospective customers. 

Do you advertise my trailer?

PEI Home & RV Centers Marketing Program ensures that your RV is being marketed in all the right places, guaranteeing exposure, and expediting the sale. Your RV will be prominently displayed on our website, on our social media sites, and on our Sales lot.

What other conditions might there be?

PEI Home & RV Centre will only accept RVs that are within 10 years old and must be in good physical and operating condition. A pre-sale inspection is required on any RV being taken on consignment to ensure that the RV being sold on consignment is in good physical condition. PEI Home & RV Centre will not accept an RV if there are any undisclosed major deficiencies, damages, or leaks with your RV. 

Our technicians will conduct an interior and exterior inspection of all safety components required for an MVI,  inspect the electrical, water, and propane systems of your RV, identify any defects that need to be corrected, and provide an estimate to repair any identified deficiencies.. The fee for this pre-sale inspection is $500.00 + HST and is payable by the seller upfront at the time the RV is listed for sale.

You must keep your insurance on the RV as PEI Home & RV Centre is not responsible for theft, fire, or damages. We will need a copy of the registration, your contact information, and a set of keys. Your RV must also be prepped for sale which includes removing all personal possessions and ensuring the RV is well cleaned inside and out. Our RV Service team can provide cleaning services if requested (cleaning charges would apply and are determined based on the size and initial cleanliness of the trailer).
